Gutter Bleed is a site devoted to the world of comics. Everyone has a favorite comic book; it’s just that not everyone has found it yet. With the wide variety of creators and companies out there putting out excellent work, there is no reason for the world of comics to remain shunted off in a corner of pop culture.

Who am I? I am not your average comic geek. I’m not the Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons, by any means. You’ll occasionally see beefs about continuity, about What Came Before - - - but really, if there’s a good story to tell, and it’s being told with love and with care by the creators, that’s all that counts.

The comic art form is as viable an art form as novel-writing. Just because the words come with pictures that work together with the script to create an entertaining work does not mean that it is for children. Don’t believe me? Pick a copy of Alan Moore’s Lost Girls and give it to your 9-year-old nephew for Christmas.  Bet your sibling doesn’t speak to you ever again.

I’ll be reviewing some good books and some bad books. Some wacked-out over-the-rainbow stuff and autobiographies. There really and truly is a comic out there for every single person. And it’s my job to help them find it.
